Gather all ingredients.
Cut onion into small pieces.
Wash mushrooms and set aside.
Heat a large pot on medium heat with a small amount of olive oil.
Add mushrooms and cook for 3-5 minutes. When done remove half the mushrooms and set aside you will use them later.
Next, add onions, minced garlic, garlic powder, and montreal seasoning to the pot and stir around. You might need to add additional oil to the pot.
Cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
Next, add white rice and then add beef broth. Stir around just to mix everything and bring it to a boil.
After boiling reduce heat to low and cover your pot. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until all the liquid has been absorbed.
When rice is done cooking add the mushrooms you put aside back into the pot. Cover the pot back up and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
Fluff with a fork and enjoy.
