Easy Mushroom Rice Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Cups Long grain white rice
  • 2 1/2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 8 oz Package Mushrooms
  • 2 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Montreal Steak Seasoning

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients.
  • Cut onion into small pieces.
  • Wash mushrooms and set aside.
  • Heat a large pot on medium heat with a small amount of olive oil.
  • Add mushrooms and cook for 3-5 minutes. When done remove half the mushrooms and set aside you will use them later.
  • Next, add onions, minced garlic, garlic powder, and montreal seasoning to the pot and stir around. You might need to add additional oil to the pot.
  • Cook for another 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Next, add white rice and then add beef broth. Stir around just to mix everything and bring it to a boil.
  • After boiling reduce heat to low and cover your pot. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until all the liquid has been absorbed.
  • When rice is done cooking add the mushrooms you put aside back into the pot. Cover the pot back up and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.
  • Fluff with a fork and enjoy.

Nutrition amounts will vary depending on the ingredients used.
Tips
  • I used long-grain white rice for this recipe but you can substitute for brown rice.
  • You can use whole garlic instead of the minced garlic, cut it into small pieces.
  • If you don’t like onions you can omit from the recipe.
  • I used a package of sliced mushrooms, you can also use whole mushrooms and slice into small pieces.
  • Make sure you reduce heat to low and cover after rice boils.
  • Keep an eye on your cooking time to not burn the rice.
  • Adjust the salt depending on your taste.
