The first thing to do is to gather all your ingredients so that you have everything that you need close by.
Next, remove the chicken legs from the package and either place them in a bowl or a gallon-sized sandwich bag. Add 2 teaspoons of olive oil to the chicken.
In a small bowl combine garlic powder, basil, and Montreal steak seasoning. Stir around to mix it together.
Add your seasoning to the chicken and mix around well. Place the chicken in the refrigerator and marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. I like to marinate the chicken for 2-12 hours if I have the time.
Preheat the oven to 400.
Line a greased baking sheet with tin foil. Place chicken on the baking sheet and cook for 15 minutes.
Remove chicken from the oven and flip the chicken drumsticks over. Continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
While the chicken is cooking you can prepare the BBQ Sauce. In a small bowl add the honey BBQ sauce and 3 teaspoons of minced garlic and stir around well.
Check the chicken to see if it is cooked with either a thermometer or poking it with a knife to see if the juices run clear. When it is done cooking you will apply the BBQ Sauce.
Brush the BBQ sauce on both sides of the chicken drumsticks making sure to coat it well with BBQ sauce. Now return the chicken back to the oven and broil for 2-3 minutes making sure to check that the top of the chicken does not burn.
Remove from oven and enjoy.
