Gather all the ingredients.
Cut onion into small pieces.
Cook lasagna noodles. Follow directions on the package. Drain water rinse, and set aside to use later.
Heat a pot and add ground beef. Break up chunks of meat and cook until browned and no longer pink. Drain off fat and then return to the stove.
Add onions, garlic powder, salt, and cilantro flakes. Cook for 3-5 minutes. Then add the pasta sauce. Lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
In a bowl add cottage cheese, egg, and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese. Mix together.
Add a small amount of sauce to the lasagna pan. Layer lasagna noodles on top, followed by cottage cheese mixture, and meat sauce. Repeat the steps until you get to the top.
When at the top add meat sauce and then top with the rest of the parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
Cover and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven, uncover, and then return to the oven and bake for an additional 25 minutes.
After done cooking remove the lasagna from the oven and let it sit for 10-20 minutes.
