Ingredients

  • 2 Cans Spinach
  • 8 oz. Cream Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • 2 Teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1 1/2 Cups Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  • The first thing you need to do to make this recipe is to gather all the ingredients you need so that you have everything close by.
  • Next, open the cans of spinach and drain all the water out. You might need to squeeze the extra water out by hand. It is important to make sure all the excess water is removed. Place the spinach in a bowl.
  • In a large bowl add spinach, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, basil, and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese.
  • Preheat the oven to 400.
  • Grease a small baking dish and then pour all your spinach mixture into the baking dish, smoothing everything out in the baking dish.
  • Add the rest of the parmesan cheese(1 cup) to the top of the spinach mixture.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Check to see if the cheese is melted.
  • Switch to broil and cook for 2 more additional minutes to brown the cheese.

Can Spinach Dip Be Prepared Ahead Of Time
Yes, you can prepare spinach dip ahead of time. Just prepare all your ingredients and then cover and place in the refrigerator for up to one day. I don’t recommend freezing the spinach dip.

Store the spinach dip in the refrigerator covered for up to three days.
Tips
Remove all excess water from the spinach.
Watch your broil time carefully so that you don’t burn the cheese.
You can add other ingredients to this recipe like artichokes or bacon.
To make this recipe healthier use less cheese and substitute the cream cheese and sour cream for the low-fat alternative.
If you are going to use fresh spinach sauté or steam first before baking.
