Cheesy Hamburger Casserole

Hamburger Casserole is a quick, simple, and easy meal to make for the family. Add a few simple ingredients and you have a great filling meal to enjoy. Serve with vegetables, a side of salad, or garlic bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 1b. Ground Beef
  • 12 Oz. Package Macaroni Noodles
  • 24 Oz. Pasta Sauce (Tomato, Onion, and Garlic)
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 15.25 Oz. Can of Golden Sweet Corn
  • 2- 6.5 Oz. Cans of Mushrooms (Pieces and Stems)
  • 2 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt and Pepper
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese

Instructions

  • Gather all the ingredients you need.
  •  Bring a pot to boil with salt. Add macaroni noodles. Follow directions on the package for cooking times.
  • Open the mushrooms and corn. Set aside to use later.
  • Preheat Oven to 400.
  • In a large frying pan or pot. Add ground beef and break up the meat with a spatula. Cook the ground beef until browned.
  • Drain fat from the ground beef and then return to the stove.
  • Now add mushrooms, corn, and minced garlic. Mix everything together.
  • Add pasta sauce and water. Mix all the ingredients. Cover with a lid and simmer for 3 minutes. Taste the sauce now and add additional salt and pepper according to your taste. Here you can also add additional seasonings like Italian seasoning or garlic powder.
  • Remove from the heat and add 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and stir around.
  • Grease a baking dish and pour your ingredients into it. Top with the rest of the cheese and bake covered for 10 minutes at 400. After that time, uncover the casserole and switch to broil for 2 minutes.
  • Fill a plate with this hamburger casserole. Add additional salt if needed or hot sauce. Enjoy with a delicious side dish like garlic bread or salad.

Storing Instructions

Refrigerator: Store in the refrigerator for 2-4 days.
Freezer: This casserole can be frozen for up to 2-4 months. Assemble the casserole and place it in a freezer-safe baking dish. Wrap the casserole with plastic wrap and then wrap again with tin foil. Thaw before adding the cheese when you are ready to bake.
