You will need the following ingredients to make this spinach dip:

Spinach- I used 2 cans of 13.5 oz. spinach.

Cream Cheese- 8 oz. of cream cheese is needed.

Sour Cream- 1/2 cup of sour cream used.

Mayonnaise- 1 tablespoon used.

Minced Garlic- 2 tsp of minced garlic is needed.

Salt- 1/2 tsp salt needed for this recipe.

Garlic Powder- 1/2 tsp garlic powder added.

Basil- 1 tsp of basil needed.

Parmesan Cheese- 1 1/2 cups of parmesan cheese is used for this recipe.

Can You Use Fresh Or Frozen Spinach

I used canned spinach for this recipe. You can use fresh or frozen spinach if you prefer. If you are going to use fresh or frozen spinach you will need to steam or sauté the spinach first and remove all water before baking.

How To Thaw

To thaw spinach place in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 2-4 minutes or until it is soft. After remove all the excess water.

Can Spinach Dip Be Prepared Ahead Of Time

Yes, you can prepare spinach dip ahead of time. Just prepare all your ingredients and then cover and place in the refrigerator for up to one day. I don’t recommend freezing the spinach dip.

Store the spinach dip in the refrigerator covered for up to three days.

The first thing you need to do to make this recipe is to gather all the ingredients you need so that you have everything close by.

Next, open the cans of spinach and drain all the water out. You might need to squeeze the extra water out by hand. It is important to make sure all the excess water is removed. Place the spinach in a bowl.

In a large bowl add spinach, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, minced garlic, garlic powder, salt, basil, and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese.

Stir everything around well mixing all the ingredients together.

Preheat the oven to 400.

Grease a small baking dish and then pour all your spinach mixture into the baking dish, smoothing everything out in the baking dish.

Add the rest of the parmesan cheese(1 cup) to the top of the spinach mixture.

Bake for 15 minutes. Check to see if the cheese is melted.

Switch to broil and cook for 2 more additional minutes to brown the cheese.
