How Do You Make Mushroom Rice From Scratch?

Instructions:

The first thing I do when I am making this recipe is to gather all my ingredients and make sure that I have everything.

Then I will prep everything that needs cutting. Cut the onion into small pieces and set aside. Next, you will wash your mushrooms and set aside.

Heat a large pot on medium heat with a small amount of olive oil. When ready add your mushrooms and cook for 3-5 minutes, then remove half of the mushrooms from the pot and set aside to use later.

Now add your onions, minced garlic, garlic powder, and montreal seasoning to the pot and stir around. You might have to add additional olive oil to the pot.

Cook for another 3-5 minutes. After that is done cooking you will add your white rice to the pot and then add your beef broth.

Stir around just to mix everything in and then bring to a boil. After boiling reduce heat to low and cover your pot. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until all the liquid has been absorbed from the rice.

When rice is done cooking turn off the heat. Add the mushrooms you set aside on top and cover the pot back up and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

After that time remove lid and fluff rice with a fork. The recipe is now ready to enjoy.

Can You Make It Ahead?

Yes, you can make this recipe ahead of time and then when you are ready to eat heat up and enjoy. If stored properly in an airtight container it should last in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.

Do I Have To Use White Rice?

No, you don’t. You can use brown rice for this recipe you would need to add more beef broth.
