Cooking Steak On The Stovetop

  • Heat a pan on high heat. Then add the steaks.
  • Cook on each side for 3-4 minutes or until the outside of the steak is brown.
  • Flip and finish cooking on the other side until the steaks reach the desired temperature.

Tips

  • Marinate the steak for a minimum of 2 hours. The longer you marinate the better as this will enhance the flavors.
  • After removing the steaks from the fridge after marinating let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Cold steaks don’t seem to cook evenly.
  • Then after cooking the steaks you will want to also let them rest for 3-5 minutes before cutting into them.
  • Always start cooking the steaks on high heat. This will ensure the outside will be browned and it will keep in the flavor and juices.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check when your steaks are done cooking. You don’t want to overcook the steaks.

What To Serve With Steaks

Top the steaks with butter. The butter melts on top of the steak creating a great flavor.

You can also top the steaks with mushrooms, pesto, or vegetables.

Sides that go well with steak are baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, asparagus, brussels sprouts, sauteed broccoli, roasted carrots, cauliflower, roasted veggies, and dinner rolls.
