  • Don’t burn the garlic.
  • Cooking time will vary depending on the size and thickness of the chicken thighs you are using.

Can I Use Other Ingredients

I get this question a lot and here are some of my suggestions for substitutions.

Chicken: I used boneless skinless chicken thighs for this recipe. You could use bone-in chicken thighs. You might need to increase the cooking time if you use bone-in chicken thighs.

Garlic: If you don’t have minced garlic you can use a clove of whole garlic. Cut the garlic into small pieces. You would need to cook the garlic a bit before adding the rest of the ingredients if you will be using a whole clove of garlic.

Spicy: If you would like this dish spicy you could add red pepper flakes or jalapenos to this sauce to make it spicy.

What To Serve With

There are a lot of things that go well with this chicken thighs recipe. Some suggestions are:

Rice- This recipe goes well served with white or brown rice.

Vegetables- Enjoy this recipe with a side of vegetables.

Potatoes- Mashed or baked potatoes taste great with this recipe. Use the mushroom sauce as a gravy for the potatoes.

This chicken thighs recipe is an easy dinner idea to make for the family. Enjoy with rice, vegetables or potatoes.
